Steve Delgadillo, has resided in Nampa, Idaho since 2019 and previously lived in California. He is worked diverse jobs as a California licensed Accident, Life and Health Agent, to work with the U.S. Census Bureau and is the Founding Director of non-profit 501(c)(3) – El Dorado Institute, Inc.
Steve has several years of experience working and volunteering as Community Event Coordinator and Cultural Advocacy Specialist. His work continues
for the City of Nampa. It is Steve's life focus to advocate
collaboratively for underserved and vulnerable populations toward their self-sufficiency.
In his own words, Steve "enjoys continued efforts
to contribute to communities’ needs for resultant representation, funding and services." This statement is exemplified through his response to the “War On Poverty” campaign during Steve's service as Special Programs Manager for the Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC) from 2000-2006.
In this leadership role, Steve was instrumental in
systemic change by forging health insurance and nutrition programs for children through the states largest school districts. His initiatives also included the implementation and facilitation of training and capacity building. Steve's steadfast work ethic resulted in the certification of over 800 Application Assisters. He continued to leverage his commitment to community action and advocacy by linking vital services to individuals in need, which was exemplified through the “Food Stamps in Four Hours" Program for underserved populations.
Steve Delgadillo as a persistent and tireless advocate, expanded accessibility within the Office of Budget and Policy Priorities, which directly prompted more language appropriate materials for Spanish-speaking communities that would equally benefit from programs such as the Earned Income Credit and Child
Tax Credit Program.
As President and CEO of International Healthcare Professionals, Inc., in 2006 I developed bi-national
collaborative relationships with public and private academic institutions, for-profit and non-profit organizations and professional networks to build infrastructure, capacity, and quality.
Through this this endeavor, and in response to the unnerving increase in Veteran suicides, especially within the Latino community, Steve became instrumental in facilitating a cohort relationship between California State University at Fullerton (CSUF) and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in the area of
nursing, counseling and psychology.
Steve is tremendously astute. He assesses potential spaces of need with compassion and more than a keen sensibility and awareness for how to improve the operations within systems. He addresses improvement and change concerning immigration, advocacy of alcohol, tobacco, drug and gang prevention, juvenile group home supervision, independent living for adults with developmental disabilities and more.
As a lover of various forms of cultural expression through film, music, dance, and art, Steve has directed and facilitated media events in partnership with television network ABC’s Town Hall meeting, “The New Face of OC” and “Day of the Children," a seminal event with over 100 agencies that brought over 10,000 residents, government representatives and
international dignitaries within one large
venue under one roof.
As a parent of four daughters, Steve is a natural educator and beyond his academic studies, Awards and Recognition, he continues to practice diplomacy, social justice advocacy, and equality and respect for All people. Steve continues to root for "the underdog," and to create, propel and support actions that create sustainable systems while paying homage to cultural preservation, which has easily become his legacy and the heart of El Dorado Institute, Inc.

The sum of academic, volunteer and compensated experiences, as well as the first major school shooting event at Columbine High School in Colorado, compelled me to do my Masters Thesis research to address this horrific social problem.
“Preventing School Violence: Conflict Resolution and Mediation Programs in Orange County and Long Beach School Districts” is the result of a qualitative study based on interviews with thirteen teachers, school counselors and social workers. The 106 page thesis includes in-depth referencing of scholars and practitioners in relevant fields.
Given the escalation of school based bullying and/or violence in the decades since Columbine, I remain saddened but convinced that “best practices” prevention programs — if given adequate resources — can substantially mitigate not only school based violence, but violence occurring beyond those settings.
As a Member of the Board of Directors for El Dorado Institute, Inc. since it was established in 2008 I have since volunteered in community based programs. Having become proficient at editing during the process of multiple revisions of my thesis, I can volunteer those services at my pace. I am proud and privileged to be among the generous humanitarians involved in the pursuits of EDI, particularly its distinguished fellow Board Members.
